Trip Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m), transfer to hotel and trek preparation.
Upon arriving in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, you'll be greeted by the bustling energy of the city. After a warm welcome at airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can settle in and relax. Take the afternoon to explore the nearby Thamel, famous for its narrow streets lined with shops, restaurants, and cafés. Enjoy the flavors of local cuisine, perhaps trying a traditional Nepali dal bhat or momo. In the evening, attend a pre-trek briefing where your guide will share essential information about the journey ahead.
Day 2 : Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (800m), 20 minutes flight.
An early morning flight will take you to Pokhara, the magical lake city of Nepal. You will enjoy the superb vistas of the Annapurna range and other snowy peaks during the flight.
Once you land at Pokhara airport, you'll drive to the hotel. The rest of the day will be free and relax. If you are interested, you can even take a sightseeing tour around the Pokhara Valley. Later enjoy your evening in the famous lakeside area.
Day 3 : Drive from Pokhara to Darbang (1,110m) and trek to Dharapani (1,560m), 5 to 6 hrs drive and 3 to 4 hrs trek.
You'll leave Pokhara and drive to Darbang via the famous Beni Bazaar. On the way, you'll traverse through scenic winding roads, discovering the charm of small towns, and listen to the relaxing sound of free-flowing rivers. Situated at the confluence of Kali Gandaki and Myagdi river, Beni is the district headquarters of the Myagdi district.
From Beni, you continue your drive towards Darbang. Passing through small settlements of Tatopani (hot spring), Babiyachaur, you reach Darbang. You have to take a brief stop while your guide will show your permits at the police checkpoint. The actual Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek begins from Darbang. Walking along the bank of the Myagdi Khola, you come across small settlements of a Magari community. After a gradual climb, enjoying magnificent vistas of mountains and dotted landscapes, you reach Dharapani village.
Day 4 : Dharapani to Muri (1,720m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.
Leaving Dharapani behind, we trek to Muri, located at 1,800 m. This trek takes about five hours and involves a mix of ascents and descents through enchanting forests. The rich biodiversity and beautiful scenery along the way will keep your spirits high. After reaching Muri, we’ll establish our camp and enjoy a cozy dinner while sharing stories of our day.
Day 5 : Muri to Boghara/ Bagar (2,080m), 6 to 7 hrs trek
Today, we trek from Muri to Boghara, which is situated at 2,080 m. The hike takes approximately six hours, and as we progress, the landscapes become even more dramatic. We’ll pass through lush forests and enjoy the sounds of nature all around us. Upon arrival in Boghara, we’ll settle into our camp, where you can take some time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Day 6 : Boghara to Dobhan Kharka (2,520m), 5 to 6 hrs trek.
Our journey continues today as we trek to Dobang, located at 2,520 m. This five-hour trek involves navigating through diverse terrain and breathtaking scenery. As we approach Dobang, we’ll be treated to stunning views of the Dhaulagiri range. Once we reach our campsite, we can unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the area, reflecting on the beauty of the trek.
Day 7 : Dobhang Kharka to Sallaghari (2,820m), 5 to 6 hrs trek.
Passing from Dobang, you'll set off to Sallaghari along with the dense jungle along the riverside of Myagdi Khola. You'll spot a wooden bridge and cross it over the streams. Keep eyes and ears wide open in the forests; you might spot or hear the roaring of wild animals. Along the trail, you'll pass through the pastures where sheep, goats, and cows are grazing. Afterward, the path has a steep climb and passes through several tricky landslide areas. Enjoy the views of a spectacular waterfall just before you reach Sallaghari.
Day 8 : Sallaghari to Italian Base Camp (3,660m), 5 to 6 hrs trek.
We will trek from Choriban Khola to Italian Base Camp today, located at 3,660 m. This seven-hour trek takes us through spectacular glacial landscapes, and the views will only get better as we ascend. Once we reach the Italian Base Camp, we’ll settle in and take time to enjoy the stunning panoramas of the surrounding peaks.
Day 9 : Acclimatization day at Italian Base Camp
Today is dedicated to acclimatization, which is crucial for adjusting to the high altitude. After breakfast, we will explore on a short hike for about three hours, allowing our bodies to adapt. The remainder of the day is yours to relax, take photographs, or explore the area around the base camp. This day will prepare us for the challenges ahead.
Day 10 : Italian Base Camp to Glacier Camp (4,210m), 5 to 6 hrs trek.
We continue our ascent today, trekking from Italian Base Camp to Glacier Camp, which is situated at 4,210 m. This six-hour journey takes us through stunning glacial terrain and offers mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountains. Upon arrival at Glacier Camp, we’ll set up our tents and take some time to appreciate the incredible scenery that envelops us.
Day 11 : Glacier Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,740m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.
Today, we will trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp, located at 4,740 m. This seven-hour trek involves navigating challenging terrain, but the reward is immense as we reach one of the most iconic locations in the region. At Dhaulagiri Base Camp, we’ll set up camp and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mighty Dhaulagiri massif.
Day 12 : Acclimatization day at Dhaulagiri Base Camp
We dedicate today to acclimatization at Dhaulagiri Base Camp. After a light breakfast, we’ll take a short hike for about two hours to further aid our bodies in adjusting to the altitude. The rest of the day can be spent resting, enjoying the stunning views, or engaging in light activities. This day is vital for ensuring a successful continuation of our trek.
Day 13 : Dhaulagiri Base Camp to Hidden Valley (5,140m) via French Pass (5,360m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.
Today, we explored on an exciting trek from Dhaulagiri Base Camp to Hidden Valley, crossing the French Pass (5,360m) along the way. This challenging trek takes about seven hours, offering breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding peaks. Once we descend into Hidden Valley, we’ll set up camp and relish the stunning environment, surrounded by the beauty of the Himalayas.
Day 14 : Hidden Valley to Alu Bari (3,900m) via Dhampus Pass (5,240m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.
Today, we trek from Hidden Valley, crossing Dhampus Pass (5,240 m) on our way to Alu Bari (3,480 m). This journey will take around seven hours, and the views from the pass are simply unforgettable. After a rewarding descent into Alu Bari, we’ll establish our camp and enjoy a relaxing evening under the stars.
Day 15 : Alu Bari to Jomsom (2800m), 4 to 5 hrs trek.
Today’s trek leads us from Alu Bari to Jomsom, situated at 22800m. This trek lasts about six hours and takes us through beautiful landscapes and charming villages. Upon arrival in Jomsom, we’ll check into our accommodations and have time to explore this vibrant town, known for its unique culture and beautiful surroundings.
Day 16 : Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and Kathmandu.
At first, catch an early flight to Pokhara. Enjoying the aerial view of the snow-clad peaks, you land at Pokhara. You'll again take a flight back to the capital, Kathmandu. After landing, you get back to the hotel. The rest of the time you can relax.
