Welcome to Kathmandu! Upon your arrival, a representative from Cime Himalaya Trek & Expedition will greet you at the airport and assist with your transfer to the hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the bustling atmosphere of the capital city. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepali dinner at a local restaurant, where you can meet your fellow trekkers and guides, discussing the adventure that lies ahead.
Today is departure day to Manthali to take our flight to Lukla. For some years, there has been no direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, so we have to travel to Manthali to take our flight the next morning. It takes about 4-5 hours drive by car or private jeep. In the morning, you’ll meet your team to go over the climbing gear and finalize preparations for the trek. This day will help you acclimatize to the altitude and immerse yourself in local culture.
Early morning, we’ll take a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After landing, enjoy the breathtaking mountain views before starting our trek to Phakding. The trail descends through lush forests and crosses suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River, offering stunning scenery along the way. Upon arrival in Phakding, settle into a teahouse and prepare for the days ahead.
Today’s trek takes us along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, with views of towering peaks in the distance. We will ascend steeply to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa capital, famous for its markets and colorful buildings. Enjoy the last glimpse of the lush landscapes as we climb higher. Upon arrival, take time to explore the village and acclimatize to the altitude.
Acclimatization is important before proceeding higher. This even mentally prepares us for what to expect as we head the trails in the real wild in the days ahead. This is first of two scheduled acclimatization days. Namche bazaar is the main center of the Everest region and has government offices, ATMs, internet, cafes, shops, bakery and local markets. Namche is an ideal place to spend a day of rest to acclimatize with the higher altitudes before heading off towards higher altitude. We can have a view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Kusum Kangaru.
The trek today leads us through beautiful forests of pine and rhododendron. We will enjoy sweeping views of the Himalayas, including Everest and Ama Dablam. Arriving in Tengboche, visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the region. Take in the serene atmosphere and beautiful mountain backdrop.
Leaving Tengboche, we descend through lush forests before crossing the Imja Khola. The trail gradually ascends towards Dingboche, surrounded by stunning mountain views. This charming village is a perfect place to acclimatize, and the clear skies often provide a perfect view of the surrounding peaks.
Another acclimatization day! You can hike to Nagarjun Hill for panoramic views or simply relax and enjoy the local culture. Use this time to hydrate and prepare for the next leg of the journey.
Today’s trek takes us towards Pokalde Base Camp. The trail becomes more rugged as we make our way through rocky terrain. Upon reaching base camp, set up your tents and take in the stunning views of surrounding peaks, resting and preparing for the ascent.
We’ll make our way to High Camp today, where the air gets thinner. The trail becomes steeper, offering exhilarating views of the peaks that surround us. Once at High Camp, we’ll set up camp and rest, mentally preparing for tomorrow’s climb.
An early start today as we head to the summit of Pokalde Peak. The ascent involves some scrambling, but the views from the top are breathtaking. After reaching the summit, we’ll descend back to High Camp and continue trekking to Chhukung, where we’ll spend the night.
A relatively short trek today takes us to Island Peak Base Camp. The views become increasingly dramatic as we approach the base camp, set against a stunning backdrop of glaciers and towering peaks. Take the afternoon to rest and prepare for the climb ahead.
Today is the big day! We’ll start early to ascend Island Peak. The climb involves some challenging sections but is incredibly rewarding. After summiting, we’ll return to Base Camp for a well-deserved rest, celebrating our success.
After breakfast, we’ll trek back down to Dingboche, taking in the views one last time as we descend. The familiar landscape feels different after the accomplishments of the past days. Settle in for a restful night in Dingboche.
We’ll leave Dingboche behind as we trek to Lobuche. The trail winds through rocky terrain and offers beautiful vistas of the surrounding mountains. Arriving in Lobuche, we’ll rest and prepare for the next leg of our journey to Everest Base Camp.
Today, we hike to Gorak Shep and then continue to Everest Base Camp. The atmosphere is electric with climbers preparing for their summit attempts. After soaking in the incredible sights and taking photos, we’ll return to Gorak Shep for the night.
An early morning trek to Kala Patthar for sunrise views over Everest is a highlight of the trip. After enjoying the breathtaking scenery, we’ll return to Lobuche, where you can reflect on the incredible journey you’ve experienced.
We’ll make our way to Lobuche East High Camp today. The trek will be steep and challenging, but the anticipation of climbing Lobuche East makes it worthwhile. Settle in at High Camp and prepare for the climb.
After an early breakfast, we’ll set off for the summit of Lobuche. The climb requires focus and determination, but the views from the top are unforgettable. After celebrating our achievement, we’ll return to High Camp for the night.
This day is reserved for any unforeseen circumstances or delays. Whether you need more time for acclimatization or weather issues arise, this reserve day ensures that we stay flexible during our expedition.
As we descend from High Camp, we’ll trek to Pangboche, a scenic village known for its monastery and local culture. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes and take in the sights of the surrounding peaks along the way.
We’ll retrace our steps back to Tengboche, where we can visit the monastery again before continuing our trek to Namche Bazaar. This vibrant town will feel like a warm welcome after our challenging days in the mountains.
The final leg of our trekking journey leads us back to Lukla. As we descend, enjoy the lush landscapes and the local culture. Upon arrival, celebrate the completion of the trek with your team and reflect on the incredible experiences.
We’ll take a morning flight back to Kathmandu, where you can relax and perhaps indulge in some last-minute shopping or sightseeing. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening, reminiscing about the unforgettable adventure.
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye. A Cime Himalaya Trek & Expedition representative will assist you with your transfer to the airport for your departure. We hope you take home lasting memories of your adventure in the Himalayas!
