Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival to Kathmandu (1,350m) and transfer to hotel.

Upon arriving in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, you'll be greeted by the bustling energy of the city. After a warm welcome at airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can settle in and relax. Take the afternoon to explore the nearby Thamel, famous for its narrow streets lined with shops, restaurants, and cafés. Enjoy the flavors of local cuisine, perhaps trying a traditional Nepali dal bhat or momo. In the evening, attend a pre-trek briefing where your guide will share essential information about the journey ahead.

Day 2 : Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar (400m) then drive to Num (1,505m), 5 to 6 hrs drive.

We will be heading to Tumlingtar via a flight from Kathmandu. Experience the breathtaking view of the snow-covered mountains from the aircraft. We see Glacier Mountains like Makalu, Ganesh Himal, and Mt. Kanchenjunga. Our drive to Num village begins as you reach Tumlingtar, passing via Khandbari and Hururu.

Day 3 : Num to Seduwa (1,530m), 5 to 6 hrs trek.

Leaving Num, Scenic trek to Seduwa. The path leads through dense forests and across sparkling streams, with the sounds of nature accompanying you. Along the way, you’ll encounter local villagers and experience the warmth of their hospitality. After a fulfilling day of hiking, you’ll arrive in Seduwa, nestled in the valley, and enjoy a restful night in this picturesque location.

Day 4 : Seduwa to Tashigaon (2,065m), 4 to 5 hrs trek.

Today’s trek to Tashigaon is shorter, allowing for a more leisurely pace as you ascend gradually. The trail offers stunning views of the Makalu region and lush green landscapes. Tashigaon is a vibrant village, and as you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by the friendly locals. Take the afternoon to explore the village or simply relax and enjoy the serene mountain environment.

Day 5 : Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3,562m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

Prepare for a challenging day as you trek from Tashigaon to Khongma Danda. The ascent is steep and demands physical endurance, but the breathtaking views of the Makalu range will motivate you. As you gain elevation, the landscape transforms into alpine meadows, and the air becomes crisper. Upon reaching Khongma Danda, enjoy the panoramic views and the sense of accomplishment that comes with reaching this high point.

Day 6 : Acclimatization at Khongma Danda.

Day 7 : Khongma Danda to Dobate (4,170m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

Continuing your ascent, today’s trek to Dobate involves navigating through rocky terrains and lush forests. The higher you climb, the more breathtaking the scenery becomes, with views of snow-capped peaks looming in the distance. After several hours of hiking, you’ll arrive in Dobate, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s achievements.

Day 8 : Dobate to Yangle Kharka (3,610m), 5 to 6 hrs trek.

The trek from Dobate to Yangle Kharka is marked by diverse landscapes and an increase in altitude. As you walk through alpine meadows and alongside babbling brooks, keep an eye out for local wildlife. Upon reaching Yangle Kharka, you’ll find a serene setting surrounded by towering mountains. Day 9 : Yangle Kharka to Langmale Kharka (4,410m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

Today’s trek to Langmale Kharka is a highlight, offering incredible views of the Makalu region. The trail ascends steadily, leading you through a rugged yet beautiful landscape. As you approach Langmale Kharka, the impressive vistas become even more breathtaking. Day 10 : Langmale Kharka to Makalu Base Camp (4,870m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

Day 11 : Explore Makalu Base Camp (4,870m).

Day 12 : Makalu Base Camp to Yangle Kharka (3,610m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

As you begin your descent, the trek back to Yangri Kharka allows for a different perspective of the stunning landscapes you’ve traversed. The return journey is equally captivating, with new sights and experiences along the way. Upon reaching Yangri Kharka, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and share stories with your fellow trekkers about your time at base camp.

Day 13 : Yangle Kharka to Dobate (4,170m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

Continuing your trek, you’ll make your way back to Dobate today. The trail is familiar yet offers new perspectives as you retrace your steps through lush forests and stunning landscapes. After several hours of hiking, you’ll arrive in Dobate, where you can relax and reflect on the journey so far.

Day 14 : Dobate to Khongma Danda (3,562m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

Today’s trek takes you back to Khongma Danda, where you’ll once again enjoy the breathtaking views that captured your heart on the ascent. The descent is filled with opportunities to appreciate the beauty of the region, and as you arrive, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Day 15 : Khongma Danda to Seduwa (1,530m), 6 to 7 hrs trek.

From Khongma Danda, we will leave Makalu Barun National Park, turn around, and head back to Seduwa. After descending the stone stairs and crossing the bridge, we continue on a jungle path through a thick forest. We will cross several bridges. We will observe birds singing during the walk because the woodland is a habitat for several avian species. Look out for cardamom bushes and the farms scattered over the slope. We reach Seduwa by walking past the Mani walls and walking down several stone steps.

Day 16 : Seduwa to Num (1,505m), 4 to 5 hrs trek and drive to Tumlingtar 4 to 5 hrs.

Take a hike to start the day, through a bustling hamlet and enormous forests of bamboo. The Arun River is reached by continuing our journey on a winding path. Once we have crossed the suspension bridge, we will be treated to a breathtaking vista of rural Nepal. We will also be walking down a river descending on large stone steps. The route leads to the settlement of Num via ascents and descents through a lovely forest. Take a picturesque trip towards Tumlingtar on the curving mountain roads of Nepal. Along with the spectacular picture of snow-capped mountains and lush landscapes, we will also witness hillside communities and terrace farms.

Day 17 : Fly from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu (1,350m), 35 minutes of flight.

After the breakfast, you’ll take a flight from Tumlingtar back to Kathmandu. As you soar over the stunning landscapes, reflect on the incredible journey you’ve just completed. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you have free time.
